Foods that are a definite NO for your Pets
Although all foods tend to contain some amounts of nutrients required by your pets, not everything we humans eat is safe for them. Certain foods are best when kept out of reach from your dog.
We have a list of some of the most common household foods that you’ll need to protect your furry buddy from.
1.Chocolate
Though dogs love the smell of chocolate, it is toxic for them, and should never be fed.
2.Onions and garlic
Onions cause oxidative damage to the red blood cells causing them to rupture, leading to anemia.
3.Citrus
The citric acid found in fruits such as lemon, orange, etc. can cause diarrhea, vomiting and at the very worst end of the scale, depression of the central nervous system.
4.Milk and lactose
Some dogs might be intolerant to lactose, resulting in stomach upsets like vomiting or diarrhea. So if your dog reacts strongly to milk products, it’s best to avoid them.
5.Raw yeast dough
Though your dog could have small bits of bread, raw dough is definitely not recommended. The rising yeast can prove to be a reason behind stomach aches and may potentially
rupture its stomach or cause gastric dilation.
6.Fatty foods
If you’re looking at maintaining a healthy weight for your dog, sweet and fatty foods should be avoided. Fatty foods could also lead to illnesses such as pancreatitis.
7.Salty foods
Salt is an essential component in your dog’s diet helping with the proper functioning of muscles and nerves. However, some dogs with chronic diseases like kidney, heart, or liver problems may require you to watch their salt consumption.
